When Death Stranding 2 was officially released in 2025, fans began turning their attention to Hideo Kojima’s next project, OD, and at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, the legendary creator finally shared some updates with fans about this mysterious new title, while also discussing his continually expanding partnership with Xbox.

At the Xbox showcase at Tokyo Game Show, Hideo Kojima said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of Kojima Productions’ official founding, and that he has now begun discussing future development with Xbox executives.
Earlier this year, I visited Xbox’s office in Redmond and had the opportunity to meet with Asha Sharma. We discussed the future of gaming and digital entertainment and developed a fairly deep understanding of what we should work together to achieve, he said.

Next, Hideo Kojima also shared more development updates regarding his next new title, OD, and referred to it as “OD-Knock.” Given that the creator has previously described OD as an “anthology game,” “OD-Knock” may be one of the chapters in the overall game.
“Development of OD is progressing smoothly. Performance capture and post-production voice work are underway. Although this part was affected by the actors’ union strike, it has resumed this year, and the production process is proceeding according to schedule. Actors Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer, along with others, have delivered thrilling and superb performances, and I can’t wait to share more details with everyone. OD is an all-new type of game unlike anything seen before, and it will test the limits of fear. Through constant experimentation and iteration, the game is gradually taking shape. We look forward to sharing more information with everyone in the future,” he said.

On the other hand, Hideo Kojima also discussed his other new project, Physint, confirming that after being dropped by PlayStation, it will be taken over by Xbox. He also confirmed that Bill Skarsgard, an actor from the It series, will star in it, and unveiled the first key visual poster for the project. However, because the development team’s main focus is still on OD, and Physint’s development plans have recently undergone many changes, fans may have to wait a while longer before any follow-up news is revealed.
