iQoo recently launched a new e-sports phone iQoo 15R in Taiwan. Although the specifications are $10,000 less than its flagship e-sports iOoo, some features have been adjusted to reduce specifications (for details, see [This article】), but for the Bypass Charging function that e-sports fans are most concerned about, iQoo 15R still retains and uses “Global Bypass Charging 2.0”
What is Bypass Charging? What is the difference with Global Bypass Charging 2.0? Let’s summarize it below:

When playing games, in high-power consumption scenarios such as live broadcasts and video calls, what should I do if my phone gets hot or freezes while charging? The summary video and detailed description of Bypass Charging, which is the savior of charging while charging, are as follows:

1. What is Bypass Charging?

[Bypass Charging] is an advanced power management technology that allows devices to obtain power directly from the charger.
Unlike standard charging mode, in which the phone uses the battery to charge even if it is plugged in, bypass charging allows an external power source (charger) to skip the battery and directly supply power to the phone’s motherboard, effectively bypassing the battery and helping to reduce battery loss and heat. The advantages of bypass charging are as follows:
A. Extend battery life:
By avoiding frequent charging and discharging, bypass charging can reduce stress on the battery and help it maintain capacity longer.
B. Lower calorific value:
The combined heat generated by charging and intensive use is avoided, reducing the burden on the battery.
C.Performance improvement:
With reduced heat generation, the device is less likely to throttle during resource-intensive activities, providing a smoother user experience, especially during gaming.

Mobile phones that support the [Bypass Charging] function are usually flagship phones of a specific brand or phones that are marketed for e-sports and mobile games, but it has gradually been transferred to mid-range phones. The following is a list of mobile phones known to support bypass charging:
Samsung Galaxy S25/26 series, Z Fold/Flip series, Note20 series, A56 (2025)/A57(2026); Sony Xperia series; ASUS Zenfone series, ROG Phone series; iQoo 15, 15R, vivo X200 Ultra, vivo X300 Ultra/X300 Pro; Realme GT7 Pro, GT5 Pro, Neo7, GT6, Neo7 SE, GT Neo6, GT Neo 6SE, OPPO Find X8 Ultra, Find X9/X9 Pro; SHARP AQUOS R10, wish5; Google Pixel 8/9 series and newer models…etc.

2. The difference between bypass charging and global bypass charging 2.0:

Compared with bypass charging, the iQoo 15 series adopts global bypass charging version 2.0, which is combined with AI or a more advanced battery management system (BMS). It requires “full scenarios” or “smartness” and can automatically stop battery charging based on the current power and usage. It has the experience advantage of combining high-power fast charging of more than 100W with lower temperatures.

The application of “Global Bypass Charging 2.0” will not be limited to games, but can also be enabled in high-power consumption scenarios such as live broadcasts and video calls, allowing the system to automatically detect and optimize the charging mode, allowing the battery to be protected more intelligently even when not in high-load games, making the applicability wider.
