The Freeform note-taking function, just like its Chinese pronunciation, is a note-taking function that focuses on being boundless and goes beyond the freedom of scribbling on roller paper as a child. Not only can the note layout be infinitely extended up, down, left, and right, but it also supports convenient functions such as stacking layers and quickly adding memo notes.
Because it supports real-time synchronization, it is also very suitable for conducting FaceTime video conferences while simultaneously displaying synchronized records to online participants in a digital whiteboard-like manner. It can even be used directly for creative presentation purposes – it can be moved infinitely and can also be zoomed! Very cool.
Since it has the ability to synchronize in real time, Apple does not provide the use of up to 100 people working together for brainstorming at the same time. This feature not only fully supports the function of drawing and taking notes with Apple Pencil or simply using your fingers, but can also collaborate directly on Mac using input methods such as keyboard and mouse.
This function can be easily used through web pages and video preview functions, making all note sharing more intuitive. By integrating the function of iCloud cloud space, you can also simply drag and drop files to upload to Infinity Notes and share them simultaneously – if you feel that the single file preview is too small, you can also click to open the full-screen view interface. In addition to sharing through links, the stage results of Wubianji can also be exported to PDF, or shared to other places through simple screenshots – of course, if you want to see the most real-time note content, you still have to use Wubianji directly.
Computer King Ada’s team simply tried out the first version of the Boundless Notes function, and basically its handwriting function is quite complete (you can also choose the “convert to text” handwriting recognition brush). Although when drawing patterns such as circles or squares, as long as you temporarily stop the strokes, the Apple Pencil will automatically complete the “perfect” graphics function may need to be added in subsequent Apple updates.
However, Boundless Notes has built-in as many as 700 preset graphics, including these simple and complex graphics (it seems that Pages has them?), I believe it is quite sufficient for most note-taking purposes. After all, if there are complex graphics requirements, it is very easy to simply drag and drop them into the notes.
In terms of collaboration functions, although there will still be a little network delay. However, Apple has thoughtfully designed a “focus” display function that marks different colored frames for each user, so that participants can know which blocks may be “turbulent” and can wait for a while before writing. Apple’s Boundless Notes feature has been officially launched with iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2, and Mac users can get it after updating macOS Ventura 13.1 for free. I recommend everyone to try it.
